Casey Thai Luong, better known by his stage name Keshi, is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, and multi-instrumentalist. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Austin after graduating from Stephen F. Austin High School. After that, he spent two years working as an oncology nurse at the Texas Medical Centre.
His stage name, "Keshi," originates from a childhood nickname given to him by his fiancée's parents. He and his fiancée have been acquainted since elementary school.
Around 2017, Casey took on the nickname "Keshi" and started posting music on his SoundCloud page. He gave credit to YouTube tutorial videos for teaching him how to write, produce, and engineer music. He moved to New York City to sign with Island Records in 2019 after quitting his work as a nurse.
